Another update of progression to the workshop. It’s been all go here at Metal and Dust HQ in the last couple of months and we’ve been busy with the workshop refurb again. Now we’ve finished building the pedestrian access door we’re definitely ready for the zombie apocalypse.
The addition of more LED lighting has been one of the best upgrades yet as we can work through the night, most definitely owls rather than larks!
The big move in has begun, we started by moving machines back in again now it’s sealed from weather and naughty sorts, of course with some welcoming TLC. The Colchester lathe, Startrite bandsaw and Grimston drill are the first three to arrive. Almost forgot that we blocked the wall up too!
More tools have been added to the shadow board, too, which has already proven itself a success! We can actually find stuff, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! We say there’s not much more to do on the shop, but will we really ever be finished?…
One modification to the workshop has been desperate for a long while. Our old airline was giving us some aggravation and full of leaks and niggles. This fancy new air reel was purchased off eBay for a bargain, just needed a bit of M&D skill to mount it up. Quick little project has saved some hair pulling and cussing, not that we do that sort of thing!
The second part to the bespoke industrial bar stool commission project. The stools have come out to design expectations and I’m really pleased with the result. They are made with reclaimed Acrow props, scrap brake discs, reclaimed scaffold planks and whiskey barrel sections.
